1957 saw longer and lower bodies but remained an extension of the 1956 designs. And the horsepower was continuing its upward trend. The 1957 Buick Special was rated at 250 horsepower, and all others at 300, thanks to boring and stroking the engine out to 364 cid. The extra large bumper guard "bombs" were lowered into the bumper and the grille was reminiscent of the 1954 Buick "electric shaver" look.
