Cadillac hung on to their dominance of the luxury car market for 1955. 140,777 1955 Cadillacs were sold...Lincoln sales never exceeded 40,000 for any one year in the mid-fifties. Cadillacs sold at about 3 times the volume as Lincoln and Imperial combined. More powerful engines were available, with the standard being 250 hp. The El Dorado produced 270 horses by using 2 four-barrel carburetors. Power steering had become standard.
