CLASSIC CAR OWNERS GUIDE
1952 Cadillac

1952 Cadillac

Minor styling changes were made to the 1952 Cadillac models as Cadillac celebrated its 50th anniversary. The small grilles below the headlights lost their egg-crate appearance and at the rear the backup lights were added to the taillight modules.

The most change however came from the engineering department. The overhead-valve V8 picked up a four-barrel carburetor along with a new intake manifold design and dual exhausts. The electrical system was now 12 volt and the Saginaw power steering was an option, said to eliminate 75% of the effort required to steer the vehicle. The new Hydra-Matic transmission offered two modes of operation. An open road drive which shifted through 3 gear positions, and a second drive position for city or hilly driving using 4 gears.
