CLASSIC CAR OWNERS GUIDE
1946 Cadillac

1946 CadillacUntil V-J Day (September 2, 1945) Cadillac had been turning out thousands of tanks, aircraft engines and munitions. After several months, Cadillac was producing the 1946 model year Cadillac. Like most automotive manufacturers whose industrial output had been instrumental in the war effort, the 1946 Cadillac was basically a repeat of the 1942 model year. The only significant change was the dropping of the relatively unpopular 63, 67 and 60 Special models. The remaining lineup consisted of two fastback models, the 61S and 62s, the notchback 62, the Sixty Special and the 75s.

Power for the 1946 Cadillac was provided by a L-head 346 cid V8, rated at 150 horsepower @ 3400 rpm.
